Making the Invisible Visible

Matt is taking to the streets.
He notices, hears, seeks, and serves people that most of society has forgotten.
In his words:
A person’s different social status does not make them less human. Someone’s bad decisions when younger doesn't make them less than human. Addiction does not make a person less than human. We are all created in God's image, and until we can see God in the faces of those we pass daily, no real change will happen.
From his home base in Chicago, to the streets of Charlotte, to New Orleans, he’s capturing stories, writing, taking photos, and conducting interviews for Speak Up.
On a recent visit through the American south, Matt repeated encountered Amber, a sweet woman trying to survive on the cutthroat streets. In Not a Bad Person, Just Invisible, he writes:
“I remember the second time I saw her; I was asking her questions, and another gentleman came up and started giving me his pitch for money, talking over Amber, and even purposely trying to suggest he needed help more than she did. I could see the look on Ambers's face...”
